About The Farm

Timber Hill Farm has been in the Howe Family for 2 generations. Andy & Martina Howe, the current owners, were in the fresh produce, chicken, grass-fed beef and the horticulture business for nearly 40 years. They built the largest farm stand on the southern side of Lake Winnipesaukee; "Beans & Greens Farm Stand" in the Fall of 1989. The farm stand's retail operation was sold in 2021. Following the sale, Andy focused on wholesale growing and sold produce they harvested daily for numerous years, while Martina continued to grow and sell her flowers at Beans & Greens farm stand until 2024.  More about this time period can be found on the HISTORY page of this website.

Today, Timber Hill Farm offers an event venue featuring their timber-framed "Howe Barn" and expansive views of Lake Winnipesaukee & the White Mountains. All events offer a true Farm-to-Table experience with the Forsyth Family Farm who took over the farming operations for Timber Hill Farm.

Most recently the Howes worked with a national organization that assists farmers in transitioning their farms to younger farmers. It was via "Land for Good" https://landforgood.org, that Andy & Martina were able to connect with this young farming couple: Kyle & Amy Forsyth. The produce and meat production on the farm is now called Forsyth Family Farm.

Forsyth Family Farm can be found at https://forsythfamilyfarm.grazecart.com as well as on Facebook & Instagram, with frequent vibrant posts. Having the same high-quality crops & meats as well as the same love for farming and for the land were priorities in selecting Amy and Kyle Forsyth as the new farmers to partner with Timber Hill Farm.

The Howe Barn

The Barn was built entirely from scratch at Timber Hill Farm, led by Andy & Isaac Howe, the farm crew and master timber framer, Trevor Kupetz. The timber frame features traditional framing methods blended with a more functional, engineered truss frame for a perfect mix of utility, elegance and wow factor. An open concept with no posts to work around, the grand hammer beam framing overhead allows for clear views out the front barn doors to our fields, and then to the lake and mountains beyond.

The barn's timber frame was constructed in the same tradition as the other timber buildings on the farm over the past few hundred years - with mature white pine harvested from the farm's forests, then milled, fitted and raised on the farm.
